MY EXPERIENCE WITH BAIAS DE AGUALVA HIKE
The trail begins with a short walk on the road and then a gentle descent toward the coast. As you wander down the path, the scenery shifts into a lush jungle. Birdsong fills the air, and the crazy diversity of plants feels like stepping into an enchanted forest. The path can get a little steep and slippery in places, so take your time.

Shortly after, as you get closer to the coast, the main highlight reveals itself: the incredible coastal rock formations. These dramatic volcanic rocks, shaped by the forces of nature, are like something out of a sci-fi movie. The rugged coastline, combined with the crashing waves = a truly unforgettable moments ☺️

As the trail loops back toward the main road (mostly gravel here) you’ll pass more dramatic volcanic landscapes. The final stretch is an easy uphill walk along a paved road, leading you back to where you started. Don´t forget to say hi to the cow invasion on the way!

The Baias da Agualva hike may be short, but it’s packed with charm. If you’re a family looking for an easy outing or someone who enjoys peaceful trails, this adventure offers lush jungle vibes, volcanic rock formations, and stunning coastal views that showcase the best of Terceira.
